Booking a Private Charter with 4charter
A private yacht, Rib or Thames Barge charter is one of the best ways to explore the Solent and the towns and cities which border this beautiful body of water on the south coast of England. Whether you are seeking a family charter to teach young children the finer points of the sailing trip or looking for a birthday charter to add a certain element of style to a Portsmouth-based party, 4charter can cater to your every need and ensure your sailing trip sticks to your budget.
Our Private Charter Packages
4charter can cater for any length of trip from a half day to a full week, allowing families or groups of friends to experience all the Solent has to offer. Many of our customers enjoy booking a slightly longer private charter in order to explore popular coastal locations such as Southampton, Bucklers Hard on the Beaulie River, Yarmouth and Cowes on the Isle of Wight – here at 4charter, we have a wealth of experience in putting together sailing event packages which incorporate all of your ideas and plans.
On board our luxury Thames Sailing Barge, Alice, we offer the additional option of a private chef or fully catered experience, giving our customers only the best that money can buy. Alice has been refurbished to an immensely high standard, and we endeavour to maintain this level of luxury in all areas of our sailing trips.
Our most Popular Private Charter Schedule
For day long sailing trips, one private charter schedule in particular has proven to be particularly popular in our experience. Your party will meet at Alice’s mooring in Gun Wharf Quays at 10am for a bacon butty and hot drink whilst a quick safety briefing takes place – as all of our boats, including Alice, are fully MCA coded and crewed by a team of highly experienced sailors, safety really is something we take seriously!
Once this briefing has taken place, Alice will depart on a leisurely sail towards Osborne Bay, taking in sights of the Spinnaker Tower, Spit Sand Fort, Ryde and Wooton Creek as you approach the Isle of Wight. Most of our guests enjoy a quick swim in the beautifully clear waters of the bay before re-boarding Alice for lunch.
Heading back towards Portsmouth, our crew quite literally allow your party to take the reins and put your new-found sailing knowledge to the test, making this a truly great sailing experience for anyone looking to learn from some of the best sailors around. On the approach to Portsmouth Harbour, the crew will once more take over as your group enjoys a mid-afternoon snack of tea and cakes before arriving back at Gun Wharf Quays for around half past four.
For those who wish to extend their stay aboard Alice, as many on a birthday charter choose to do frequently, up to 14 guests can book their evening’s accommodation aboard Alice. The Gun Wharf Quays mooring point is the ideal location for a quick trip to popular Portsmouth nightlife spots such as Tiger Tiger and a variety of restaurants in Gun Wharf Quays.
We at 4charter understand the importance of value for money, so we are also able to offer discounted parking at Gun Wharf Quays for those travelling to Alice’s mooring point by car. Alternatively Portsmouth Harbour railway station is only a ten minute walk away, with trains running from London and Southampton regularly, making Alice’s mooring one of the optimum locations for private sailing charters on the Solent.Book Today!
